Greater festival of Vilaller

The Major Festivals are part of our tradition. Commemorate a fact or, as is the case of Vilaller, honor the patron San Roc and the Virgin Mary. On August 15 we celebrate in our town the most important party of the whole year, a meeting point for people who live in the town and for those who for various reasons live outside.

The day 15, the Virgin’s day, is the day of the Tatero, a traditional dance danced by the unmarried butlers with a couple formed by a girl from the family. The mayordomos are called by the commission of celebrations and the last day of the celebration is come to the change of mayordomos being designated those of the next year. This dance perpetuates a tradition that comes from centuries ago.
